Off the Record

Captain Brick is a rapper, producer, and engineer out of Reading, Pennsylvania — the city he calls the Dot. Born in 1999, an old soul with a young ear, drawn to boom bap that swings from gritty underground knock to soulful, drumless texture.
The bars are the point. Vivid storytelling, razor-sharp imagery, pictures you can see. His Saddam on a Tuesday series — Side A and Side B — put that on record, and the catalog behind it runs 80 tracks across five tapes and three EPs. Room to push into trap and the experimental edges, but the spine stays underground.
He works the board on his own records — recording, arranging, editing, mixing, and coaching features through their takes. He builds beats too, a deep folder of them, most still unheard; the ones that make records come from a circle of producers he trusts.
He's taken it up and down the East Coast, headlining his own summer 2023 run and opening for Fuego Base four times. His latest EP, Salute Me or Shoot Me, is out everywhere now.
